Students are currently working on two units at once...!

Mr Hore is covering the practical workshop unit (EG204), giving the students some workshop skills. This covers simple marking out and shaping of materials, cutting using drills, reamers, folding and joining. Later on work will include using a lathe (manual and CNC) to create cylindrical form shapes, threads, concentric holes while a mill will be used to accurately place a hole through piece of round bar. The project for assessment is a G-Clamp and will finish around February 1/2 term.

Mr Frogley is covering the examined unit, EG208, which looks at Engineering Business, covering Intellectual Property, material types & impact of engineering on society.

The exam, a 1h30m short answer paper, will be on Wednesday 11th January 2012 @ 0900
